Crowdfunding and our community

Crowdfunding is slowly becoming a recognised way in funding the needs of our communities. Where due to council and government constrains has put pressure on local fundraisers and challenged ideas by way of process and council “best practise” we can now see a way in which projects can be created and funded through community focused crowdfunding platforms.

Microryza

Microryza-logo (2015_11_04 16_56_26 UTC)As a society, we are in a position to study, learn, and innovate more than ever before. Yet there is one major bottleneck: funding. In recent years, it’s become increasingly difficult for new ideas to get off the ground, especially the innovative and high-risk ideas with the biggest impact. ‘Big science’ has become synonymous with ‘budget cuts’. This is about our ability to invest in our future. This is about Science for the people, by the people.
